Many times Stainmaster will run free installations but you have to use premium pad and Stainmaster carpert (obviously). We penciled in out and it made sense to go with the stock carpet and pad w/ $97 install over the Stainmaster deal. We just had Lowe's install carpet last week and the breakdown was something like this: -Basic Install: $97. Stylish and fresh patterned STAINMASTER® PetProtect™ carpets are manufactures from 100% SuperiaSD Solution Dyed BCF Nylon 6,6. Intrigue is offered in an array of hand selected colors, and features a lively new take on a classic diamond.

Store employee added 60 additional square feet! Huge carpet roll sits in my garage. Don't need carpeting in any other rooms. Kills me having $$ sitting there. (May have to donate it.) Future buyers be aware!Person doing measuring had already accounted for pattern matching, closet coverage...

'Do not buy Carpet from Lowe's'
Had stainmaster carpet from Lowe's installed after 6 months piles on the edge were coming loose called Lowes set up an appointment installer came back review the problem said it look like a manufacturing problem manufacturer sent an investigator to look at it they stated it was not a manufacturing issue it was an installation issue Lowes told me that they could do nothing about it and would not fix the problem. There's really no Free installation. This is a sucker advertisement. The carpet is reasonably priced but you have to buy the padding from the installer. The padding price is so inflated that this cost pays the installer a very reasonable fee for his installation. Next time, I'll shop around at carpet stores.Name: Keith gorta

The carpet installers arrived told me they only had gold transition pieces I tried to explain that I wanted pewter to match my door knob and hinges they started with this no speak English the district manager try to make decisions 50 miles away ended up pulling off the job stay away from Lowe’s home for your carpet needs I explain my concerns to Lowes Customer Service they said they would get back to me they never dead

'Worst Professional Service Ever!'
I did not follow through completely with the install, so this review is not about the quality of the material but the service I received. I was super stoked about going with a professional contractor believing it would be done in a timely manner with the best material, install and service I could imagine. Only b/c I had an incident a few years back when I went with a family friend who did some carpeting for me for an affordable price, but I ended up with the wrong color, the wrong style, everything was wrong although I got new carpet. Anyway, I went with Lowes thinking this time I may be paying double the amount but at least its with professionals and I wouldn't have anything to worry about... Wrong! After Service Pros came out for Lowes to do the measurements, I got an estimate back in just a few days. All was going smoothly, then I was told my carpet was on special order so it will take about two weeks for delivery and maybe a few extra days for the install to happen. So I waited and waited, after two weeks, no call, no notification, so I called Lowes and Service Pros, no answer or too long of a wait time. It took me almost a whole week to get a hold of someone! And I didn't mention, but I'd already paid for the carpet and install labor. After 3 weeks, when Service Pros did come out they checked out the room and left. No carpet. An hour later, another person came out, measured the room and left. I got home from work and had the same old carpet! They did not leave a message, Lowes did not call to notify of any delay. This is already such a long review, but let me tell you, after 3 months I have still not gotten my carpet! So I called for a full refund and now Lowes is guaranteeing me they could have it done in the next two days! I told them Nope... I've already got a new contractor.. Just refund me and thank you for nothing.... Don't do work with them. Terrible terrrible customer service. They never once apologized or even considered giving me a discount! We have had someone scheduled to come measure the area for our carpet today for two weeks now. On the day of we get a call saying he won't be coming because he has 'other things to do.' Not impressed to say the least. Guess we will be checking out Home Depot!

'Rip off'
Tried to order carpet but they wanted to charge me for over 200 square feet of both padding and carpet as 'waste material'. That's 50% over what I needed! When I questioned it, they told me that was 'average' and anyone would charge me that. I talked to a couple other carpet places who said average waste is about 10-20%. No wonder their installation is 'free', they just make it up tacking on square footage. I went elsewhere. Judging by the reviews of their horrible installations, looks like I dodged a bullet. Bye bye Lowe's. I'm doing a ton of home improvement right now and I definitely won't be back.Name: SMilam

'Lowe's Installer claimed padding was Stainmaster without the logo'
Installer entered my home with the wrong materials and refused to listen he tried to convince me I was wrong. After, buying Stainmaster carpet and padding over several years I know what it looks like. I had the padding from the previous carpet still in the garage with the Stainmaster logo clearly marked all over the padding. The padding the installer was trying to use was no way close to Stainmaster. He saw I was on the phone and assumed I was talking to my husband and wanted to explain to him, when I told him it was Lowe's and the padding should say Stainmaster , the installer wouldn't talk to lowes's employee and said he was calling his boss. After, an hour and half of wasted time. He apologized and said he would return with the right stuff tommorow. Yikes waiting for a manager to respond. How many people are given the wrong cheap padding and don't even know?Name: Chris

We purchased the carpet in March. They used A substandard installer. Edges were coming up, you can see all seams and spots were appearing through the carpet. We filed a complaint two months after the installation, they sent the contractor back out to came take pictures and they then never contact us back. We kept calling to find out the result of the complaint, they finally told us in November that we didn't file the complaint soon enough and there was nothing that we can do now. When we purchased the carpet they had advised in the store 1 year satisfaction guaranteed. Only 8 months total had passed, still trying to figure how they calculate a year. Maybe in dog years?

'Wrinkling'
I like my carpet, but in the two yrs. I've had it, it is wrinkling badly. Lowe's sent ServicePro to estimate the cost to fix it. That was a $35/charge. They wanted $350 to stretch it, then Lowe's tacked on a $125 charge for themselves. Over $500 to fix poor installation. I will never recommend Lowe's or buy carpeting from them again. Buy from independent dealers that want to keep customers. Lowe's doesn't care! I can not justify that amount, so now I am trying to find some honest carpet person to help me. It's a shame that Lowe's regards it's customers so poorly.

You could call their selection limited, or you could call it efficient. Phenix knows the residential carpet market well and meets its demands without producing exotic patterns that would clash in the average household. It offers a range of textures, pile heights and weave patterns in 12-20 neutral colors each.
These are the major Phenix carpet ranges/collections:
SureSoft
Suresoft is Phenix’s piece-dyed polyester, which means that the dye is added after the carpet is woven. This method can be used to create intricate patterns, like the Phenix Energetic style, which mimics tree bark. Piece-dyeing involves strong chemicals and has mediocre stain resistance, so Phenix is joining other manufacturers in shifting away from this method.
SureSoftSD
SureSoftSD is made from P.E.T. (Polyethylene terephthalate or “polyester”) that is solution-dyed. In this method, the dye is added to the plastic while still molten before it is spun into fiber. Most of Phenix carpet falls into this family. Colors range from the merle look of Chandler Bay to the inspiring Bespoke pattern, based on ancient Japanese resist dyeing. SureSoftSD carpets have fantastic stain and fade resistance, but their springiness will suffer if placed in high traffic walkways.
SureSoftSDN
SureSoftSDN is Phenix’s line of solution-dyed nylon. SureSoftSDN is known for its fabulous durability that’s backed by a lifetime “FloorEver” warranty. Consumers often shy away from nylon because of price, but SureSoftSDN styles such as Crave and Tribute prove that value-priced nylon carpet does exist.
The Cleaner Home Carpet
The Cleaner Home Carpets epitomize Phenix’s strength in blending features with value. It uses the super-soft OpulenceHD fiber as a base, finished with Microban and SureFresh odor-capture technology.
Phenix on Main
Phenix on Main is the company’s venture into commercial flooring. It includes 16 styles of broadloom carpet.

How do you install Phenix carpet?
The Phenix Carpet website doesn’t offer their own installation guidelines, but directs you to the Carpet and Rug Institute standard for installation. The CRI standard is an amazingly comprehensive booklet that you should study before a DIY install.
Like most manufacturers, Phenix recommends hiring a professional for installation. If you want to increase your chances of a successful warranty claim, hiring a professional is a must.

Is Phenix carpet easy to clean and maintain?
All Phenix carpets contain one or more stain resistant technologies, but you need to keep up with regular maintenance and jump on stains immediately to keep carpet looking fresh.
Vacuum your carpet at least twice a week. Phenix carpets won’t thin or wear with frequent vacuuming. Hire a professional steam cleaner every 12-18 months to stay within the Phenix warranty recommendations.
Give areas of heavy foot-traffic a fighting chance by placing runners in hallways. Use coasters under furniture and mats under office chairs.
Wear socks in the house to prevent body oils from building up in the carpeting and trapping grime. Don’t tempt fate by bringing food, dark beverages or craft paint into carpeted areas. If a spill happens, quickly look up how to treat that particular kind of stain before going after it. Always avoid rubbing debris deeper into the carpet.
